Are you passionate about improving Alaskans’ lives? Do you embrace the challenges that come with social innovation? At United Way of Anchorage, we unite people, ideas, and resources to build a community where everyone can thrive. We are Anchorage's trusted convener, catalyst, and innovator—bringing together business, government, nonprofits, and community members to drive systems-level change that addresses our community's toughest challenges in Youth Opportunity, Financial Security, and Healthy Community.
Motivated community members make great teammates.
United Way's financial picture is genuinely complex: Restricted and unrestricted funds with fundamentally different stories, coming from federal, state, and municipal grants and workplace campaign pledges. The right person to serve as our next Chief Financial Officer (CFO) should see our complexity as interesting and serve as a true thought-partner to our President & CEO, Board of Directors, and Finance Committee.
Our CFO should provide clear, confident analysis—not just data delivery. They should explain what the numbers mean, flag what’s coming before it arrives, and help us make decisions with financial clarity rather than financial anxiety. This role also carries senior accountability for human resources, overseeing its delivery.
Community Resource Specialists support the day-to-day operations of Alaska 211. They work with the Alaska 211 Manager, Call Center Lead, and other Community Resource Specialists to answer and document calls, providing information about resources and services to community members who need assistance. They also help with database management.
Previous referral or call center experience is a plus. Successful candidates should possess skills to complete certification through Inform USA as a Community Resource Specialist within a year of hire. Candidates should have the ability to work differing shifts between 8:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. as well as some holidays.
