Our mission inspires efforts and initiatives we undertake.
United Way of Anchorage's mission and vision are simple and achievable. They're why we have accomplished so much since we started serving Alaska when we ran our first community campaign in 1956. They guide how we solve our community’s toughest challenges and are why we’ve been able to improve lives for 70 years.
Mission: We unite caring people to give, volunteer, and take action to remove barriers to opportunities.
Vision: Anchorage is a diverse, vibrant community where everyone can achieve their potential.
United Way's mission and vision inform our values too. Our commitment to leadership, collaboration, results-focused, stewardship, and equity shows up in everything that we undertake. Plus, our values coordinate with our impact areas, which are where we put our efforts on initiatives, partnerships, and programs, including our grantmaking. They are Financial Security. Healthy Community. Youth Opportunity.
Alongside you, we're creating lasting community impact.
