Campaigns at work foster a culture of giving.
Bringing people together to support causes benefits employees, organizations, and our community. United Way of Anchorage’s first action was its community campaign in 1956. People, like you, participated in our city-wide fundraising efforts and made donations to address tough challenges and real needs. Our campaigns have empowered Alaskans to support one another and often kick off each fall, like our first one 70 years ago.
Workplace campaigns play a vital role in funding long-term positive change.
Employees can come together to raise funds and volunteer to improve Alaskans’ lives during workplace campaigns. Partnering with United Way can provide an opportunity to support causes that you’re passionate about. Your workplace campaign can run for a week, one month, or any other length of time. Our Development Team can help customize your workplace campaign, even offering payroll deduction for employee donations.
Training, tools, and support: How to run a workplace campaign.
Local Impact
When for-profit, nonprofit, or public organizations run events to support our fundraising efforts, they’re called “workplace campaigns.” Organizations in Anchorage coordinate with us to run them. United Way empowers employees to support Financial Security, Healthy Community, and Youth Opportunity.
Improved Retention
Workplaces that are committed to giving and volunteering attract and retain more employees, clients, and customers. By supporting United Way, you show you want to live in a thriving community and believe our future is bright. Donating alongside your colleagues reinforces your commitment to community wellbeing.
Enhanced Morale
Workplace campaigns serve our community and your colleagues. They enhance morale, loyalty, and productivity. Then, people's sense of inclusion grows. As workplaces develop positive reputations, their visibility and allure become magnetic. Those reasons alone suggest workplace campaigns are worth running.
Employee Campaign Coordinators
Employee Campaign Coordinators (ECC) oversee workplace campaigns. If you’re one, thank you! You’re everyone’s go-to—from your leadership and colleagues to our Development Team. No United Way workplace campaign can happen without you, and we’re here to answer your questions and assist you with your goals.
Colleague Engagement
ECC enthusiasm is contagious, whether on-site with colleagues or in trainings with United Way. Your dedication catches people’s attention, your knowledge gives them reasons to care, and your calls-to-action create change. We’ll help you plan how to engage people so they can participate in ways that matter to them.
United is the Way colleagues foster a shared commitment to Alaska!
Let us know how you, your workplace, and your colleagues want to get involved with our campaign.
