Tocqueville Society members attend a special United Way event.

Will you change thousands of people’s lives alongside committed Tocqueville Society members?

Alexis de Tocqueville Society is named after a 19th century French political thinker and historian who recognized the importance of voluntary action on behalf of the common good. Tocqueville Society members are dedicated to developing a stronger sense of community and building connections among local philanthropists. United Way’s engagement opportunities help them grow awareness of issues, contribute to solutions affecting the wellbeing of children and families in our community, and have opportunities to network with forward-thinking individuals.

This national philanthropic society has members who give $10,000 or more annually to local United Ways.

Gifts equaling $10,000 or more from spouses or partners allow you both to be recognized as members of Tocqueville Society. You’ll join with passionate individuals who are deeply involved in United Way’s mission and support solutions that address root causes and immediate needs in Alaska. Your generous donations advance efforts that have significant impacts in our communities. Alongside our board members and senior leaders, you’ll strengthen Alaska.

Meaningful Involvement

As a member of Tocqueville Society, you have special opportunities to connect with community and business leaders who are driving positive change. You’ll receive invitations to private events, be connected to volunteer efforts, and witness United Way’s work first-hand. These connections ensure that you know how your investments are helping Alaskans and collectively addressing systemic challenges in communities across our state.
