Our United Fund means 17 projects will help Alaskans now.

Thousands of Anchorage-area people are benefiting from United Way of Anchorage’s investment of $250,000 into 14 nonprofits during fiscal year 2026. Seventy-three short-term projects were pitched for United Fund grants in two application periods. The nonprofit grant recipients proposed work that responded to current community needs and would create innovative solutions, further cross-agency collaboration, or enhance ongoing programs. United Way is proud to present these projects, which are directly and positively impacting Alaskans and immediately contributing to the local economy.

Congratulations to our FY26 United Fund grant recipients!

“What’s most important now is that people in Anchorage know what new programs, resources, and services may be available to them,” says Eric Utraq Billingsley, President and CEO of United Way. “Eight of the projects expand childcare options, six tailor programming for children and youth with high ACEs scores, and two offer support to expecting parents and adults over age 55. There’s also a financial literacy program.”

United Way's putting resources directly into efforts that assist people right away.

Our United Fund support for piloting or rapid-cycle testing innovative solutions will resulting in a stronger workforce and safer neighborhoods soon after.

“Our flexible funding gives local nonprofits the room they need to listen to Alaskans and respond to their concerns and obstacles,” Billingsley says. “United Way has always operated like that. We advance work that helps our community—not an agenda. When our neighbors have financial security, are healthy, and can access education and career-development opportunities, everyone thrives and Anchorage can prosper.”
