On July 10, over 150 United Way of Anchorage supporters and their families joined us for Leadership Picnic at The Alaska Zoo. These community members give $1,000 or more annually, making them Leadership Donors—of which we have over 400 all told. They donated nearly $2 million dollars over the past 12 months.
We host this picnic each year to celebrate their contributions because we’re so grateful for their pledges and gifts. The truth is, though, the challenges facing our community have been growing. We can solve them when more Alaskans pitch in and when Alaskans pitch in more. Together, we can open doors to opportunity, ensuring that everyone has a fair chance to contribute to and benefit from the progress we’re creating.
