ANCHORAGE, Alaska – ENSTAR Natural Gas Company donated $50,000 to help Southcentral Alaskans struggling to pay their heating bills. ENSTAR’s generous gift, stewarded by United Way of Anchorage, provides financial relief to residents in the Municipality of Anchorage, the Matanuska-Susitna Borough, and the Kenai Peninsula Borough.

United Way will work with local nonprofits to ensure the funds reach vulnerable Southcentral Alaska families who are most in need of support. They can call Alaska 211. United Way’s community resource specialists will connect them with available support.

“We’re deeply grateful to ENSTAR for their generous commitment to helping Southcentral Alaskans stay warm this winter,” said Eric Utraq Billingsley, President and CEO. “Their support ensures families facing tough choices won’t have to go without heat.

“Late last year, ENSTAR made a decision to focus our annual giving campaign for 2025 on home heating support for our customers,” said Lindsay Hobson, Director of Legal and Administration for ENSTAR. “As a result, we are proud to partner with United Way and contribute $50,000 to help Southcentral Alaskans. While we are pleased to provide this funding, it’s important to note that ENSTAR’s community donations do not come from customer dollars – and this donation is no exception. We are committed to supporting the communities we serve and are honored to partner with United Way to provide this assistance.”

Southcentral Alaskans in need can dial 2-1-1, United Way’s statewide helpline, to connect with trained community resource specialists who will guide them to resources for natural gas bill assistance.
